Carmen Crépin sits on the boards of directors of Professionals’ Financial and Professionals’ Financial – Mutual Funds.
An experienced corporate director, Carmen Crépin has an extensive track record. A lawyer and member of the Quebec Bar, she began her career with Quebec’s Ministry of Transportation in 1974 and, after a period in private practice, she held various management positions with provincial departments. She then served as Assistant Chief Coroner and Deputy Chief Coroner of Quebec from 1985 to 1989.
Ms. Crépin’s career includes stints as Vice-President and Secretary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec from 1989 to 1998, and Vice-President and Secretary of the Fonds de solidarité des travailleurs du Québec at the turn of the 2000s. Her corporate governance responsibilities prompted her to complete a program in Applied Ethics at the Université de Sherbrooke.
After serving as President of the Quebec Securities Commission (QSC) from 1999 to 2002, she worked for many years for the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA). In September 2015, she retired from the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), where she served as Vice-President for Quebec. IIROC was established through the consolidation of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA) and Market Regulation Services Inc. (RS).
