Practice Leader, Financial, Tax and Estate Planning
Marc-André Lavergne has had a prolific and varied career. He started as an ambulance technician, a profession he practised for more than ten years. During that time, he studied law, then taxation. He then worked as a legal assistant and notary in private practice, before becoming a partner in a team specializing in business growth and development, and then moving into private management.
As Practice Leader, Financial, Tax and Estate Planning at fdp Private Wealth Management, he works closely with wealth management advisors to develop more complex strategies for our clients’ financial and tax planning. His multidisciplinary skills, his meticulousness and his appropriate actions make him a key figure in setting our standards of excellence in providing comprehensive and highly personalized financial guidance. With specialized expertise that includes corporate and tax law, he ensures his clients receive quality service tailored to their needs.
Mr. Lavergne holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Montréal (2014), a Master in Notarial Law from the Université de Sherbrooke (2016) and a specialized graduate diploma (DESS) in taxation from HEC Montréal (2017). As a member of the Ordre des Administrateurs agréés du Québec (Adm.A.), he acquired in 2025 the double designation of ASC (Administrateur de sociétés certifié) from the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés and C.Dir. (Chartered Director) from the Directors College. Then, in 2024, he received the Charles-Pelletier Scholarship from the Institut de planification financière (IPF), recognizing his outstanding performance on the financial planner certification exam (F.Pl., 2024).
